All I know is that last week I could download and this week I can't. I'm sure the problem lies with the Archive because I have no problem downloading from other sites. I am optimistic that the situation is temporary so I'll keep checking in to see if anything changes, "faulty security certificates" or whatever else.

Besides, I've downloaded so much material already from here that it would take me a lifetime to watch it all anyway.

Last week, I couldn't download using IE; but could using the Google browser. This week, all seems normal. I use Malwarebytes for anti-malware and Ad-Aware Antivirus, and they both report that my machine is clean. I don't find a problem with the site, now.
Like guyzilla, I've already downloaded a truckload of movies. I've turned into some kind of classic movie hoarder!

I will now bring this absurd thread to an end.

I use Linux only so none of your Windows ranting and raving apply.

As already mentioned, it is simply a security certificate problem.

I have no problem accepting certificate mismatches and then all works OK.

guyzilla - I have almost 3 terabytes from this site, and I'm down to my last 500 movies. Panic time!

Start uploading people!

Since I don't have Windows on my computers, let me ask this question of those that do.

Is there no way for you to override the problem such as the enclosed shows?

Archive has many server addresses and you need to accept them individually as you use them.

Once they are manually accepted, it will become permanent.

Again, the problem is the certificate only allows archive.org but does not specify all the different server names.

Whether anything is done about it is anyone's guess and Jeff Kaplan has no control over it.
